Cocktail Classes

Swill Merchants Co. offers curated cocktail classes based on you and your clients’ preferences. Reflecting Sarah Rosner’s bartending career in DC, we welcome the whole range of characters and events, from team meetings, client events, company or friends and family happy hours, birthdays, bachelor(ette) parties, a Tuesday in February. Together, we will discuss the atmosphere desired, the average cocktail knowledge, skill level and interest your guests are at, and if you would like to include cocktail and/or bar tool kits.

Classes are typically based on one stirred cocktail (i.e.-Manhattan, Old Fashioned) and one shaken cocktail (i.e.-Daiquiri, Gimlet) plus a variation, or two, on one or both of them. This is to provide the largest range of core cocktail making techniques. Classes are an hour and a half long, though tend to go over. We offer custom Swill Merchant Co. bar tool kits. Personalized tool kits (2 week turnaround suggested) are also available. Spirit packages are now available! Kits include spirits, sugars and most ingredients to make 2 full drinks of 3 cocktails . Kits typically do not include perishables like citrus, eggs or dairy.

Kit shown includes most ingredients for two Rye Old Fashioneds, 2 Champagne Cocktail variations and two Mocktails.

Once the content and the date of the class are decided on we will then provide a shopping list along with suggested ice, glassware and tools (including examples of simple substitutes) that you will need. During each class, Sarah will introduce herself, give a general history of cocktails, go over basic tools, the spirits we are using and why, how to taste, explain the history of the cocktails being made and spirits used, answer cocktail, spirit, life and bar/restaurant ordering etiquette questions. Throughout, we will, of course, make the cocktails with you and your attendees.

Swill Merchants Co. will provide the Zoom link.
